About Matter/Anti-Matter Space Propulsion
Many theorists have contemplated the use of matter/anti-matter annihilation as a source of space propulsion. Based on laboratory experiments conducted by scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics and Lawrence-Livermore National Laboratory, Mark Pickrell, the founder of Albireo Scientific Corporation, proposed a craft using matter/anti-matter annihilation as an energy source for space propulsion. J. Space Explor. 9(2):162 (2020). Albireo Scientific was founded to consult regarding the initial laboratory testing to evaluate the feasibility of matter/anti-matter space propulsion.
Our Mission
To advise governments and space companies regarding matter/anti-matter propulsion, particularly the next technological step of quantifying matter/antimatter annihilation as a power source for space travel.

- Mark Pickrell is the founder of Albireo Scientific. He can be reached at mark.pickrell@albireoscientific.net. Aside from the initial peer-reviewed article on matter/anti-matter space propulsion in the Journal of Space Exploration, he has written Humanity's Greatest Leap (Mustang Publishing 2021) and "Matter/Anti-Matter Space Propulsion" in Propulsion Systems -- Recent Advances, New Perspectives and Applications (Intech Publishing 2023). One important outgrowth of this work related to matter/anti-matter space propulsion is a fundamental physics idea regarding the structure of matter in the Universe as a composite structure of matter and antimatter, described in Physics Essays 37(4): 270 (Dec 2024).
